Let Us Find the Right CFI for You

Let me find you up to 3 independent CFIs that will help you get through training fast, efficiently, and cost-effectively.

Selecting the right CFI is by far the most important decision that you will make at the start of your training.

❌ Choose the wrong CFI, and you will end up taking far longer and spending far more than you need to on your way to becoming a professional pilot.

✅ Choose the right CFI, and your training experience will be much like my own: fast, efficient, well organized, & very cost effective.

But here's the challenge: If you're new to aviation, finding that ideal CFI could be a lot harder than you think and any trial and error you experience is going to wasted thousands of dollars.

And that's exactly where I come in.

How I Can Help You:

Over the past 2.5 years, I've:

  • Trained at a Part 61 school and earned 7 ratings in 91 days for under $50K

  • Worked as an independent CFI, logging 1,100+ hours of instruction

  • Built a directory of 400+ CFIs and a huge community of 100K++ pilots that trust my judgement

I know what works. I know what doesn't. And I know how to spot the red flags.

In December of 2025, I created a directory of independent CFIs and since then hundreds of CFIs have joined. Many of these CFIs:

✅ Believe in accelerated training principles

✅ Have a proven track record of student success

✅ Use well-maintained aircraft with minimal downtime

✅ Follow structured syllabi (not just "building time")

✅ Provide scheduling flexibility so you're not waiting weeks between lessons

✅ Align with my values: integrity, efficiency, and student-first training

How It Works:

Step 1: Make your (refundable) search fee of $595

Why $595? Because finding a qualified CFI near you can be a very time-consuming process. As such, we need to know you are serious about getting started with your flight training before we invest the time to help you.

Step 2: Reply to the email you'll receive after making your payment.

We'll ask you key questions about your location, timeline, budget, and goals.

Step 3: I'll start the search to find you a qualified CFI near you

If I can't find you at least one CFI near you, I'll refund your payment, no questions asked.

Benefits To You:

When you work with me to help you find an independent CFI, you will:

  1. Not have to call/visit all the flight schools near you (plus, you probably don't know what to ask them)

  2. Save tens of thousands of dollars on your way from zero to CFI vs. the cost of one of the big box schools

  3. Experience little to no turnover in your instructor (though you can always pick a new one if you wish)

  4. Have your schedule planned out weeks in advance instead of just days, which is so common among most flight schools

  5. Follow an approved syllabus for your training

  6. Know that you are training with a CFI that believes in accelerated flight training and will support your goal of achieving your ratings quickly, safely, and cost effectively

Why This Matters More Than You Think:

I've seen it happen over and over:

Students enroll at a "convenient" school near them, only to discover:

  • Aircraft are constantly down for maintenance

  • Instructors leave every few months (restarting your progress)

  • Scheduling is a nightmare (you wait 2 weeks between lessons)

  • The school prioritizes their revenue over your success

The result? What should take 6-9 months takes 1-2 years. What should cost $70K costs $120K+.

You don't want that to happen, do you?

Frequently Asked Questions

I understand you probably have questions. See below. I have answers!

Is the $595 a fee or does it go towards my training.

The $1,000 is a fee; however, when we talk do the potential CFIs, we always do our best to negotiate a discount on the first block of hours.

For example, most good qualify CFIs will want to collect $2,500 up front for your first block of hours. (I always did when I was a CFI)

When talking to the CFI(s) that we find for you, we suggest that they offer you some kind of discount on that first block of time. Sometimes they say yes, and sometimes they say no.

Ultimately, the choice of which of the CFI(s) we find for you is up to you and so is all the negotiation on their fees.

What type of aircraft will I be training in?

The CFIs in the directory fly a lot of different types of aircraft. Some are newer with glass cockpits and auto-pilot, while some are older, simpler, and less expensive to rent.

How much do instructors charge?

Most CFI charge somewhere between $50-$100/hour. CFIs in areas that have higher populations (cities) tend to charge higher rates.

What ratings can I get?

All of them! Most students will need a PPL, Instrument, CPL, and a CFI. If you want a multi-engine, CFII, or MEI, that is available as well. You just need to let us know this in advance so that when we start building a shortlist of CFIs for you to talk to, they have the correct instructor certifications.

What is the refund policy?

This fee is refundable if we can't find you a suitable CFI located near you.

What Stuff do I need to buy before day 1 of training?

At a minimum, you are going to need a good quality noise cancelling headset (don’t cheap out on your headset, you will regret it), sunglasses, an iPad mini, a case for the iPad, Foreflight, and a way to attach the iPad to either your leg or the window of the plane.
